Event Engineering Lights Up Vivid Sydney 2025

Opening Tonight Across Sydney

Vivid Sydney 2025 kicks off tonight, transforming the city with an immersive celebration of light, music, ideas, and architecture — and once again, Event Engineering is proud to play a key role behind the scenes.

Our team has worked closely with artists, curators, and producers to help bring some of this year’s most striking installations to life. From structural design and custom rigging to engineering certification and on-site consultation, our expertise ensures that creativity can shine safely and spectacularly.

“The work is often invisible to the public, but without robust engineering behind each structure, these ambitious works simply wouldn’t be possible,” says Event Engineering Director Morgan Sheehy, who was recently featured in a Create Digital article about the hidden technical work behind the festival.

In the piece, Morgan discusses the collaborative process of working with artists and the technical challenges involved in building temporary structures in complex urban environments. Whether it’s supporting massive projection mapping installations or delicate suspended sculptures, the engineering must be precise, responsive, and integrated from concept to completion.

Vivid continues to be a highlight of our year — a rare opportunity to merge imagination with innovation on a truly city-wide stage.

Join us in celebrating the launch tonight and witness Sydney at its most luminous.
