Guinness World Record: Largest and Most Powerful Trebuchet/Catapult Ever Built.

In August 2011, our directors and senior engineers Jeremy Sparks and Morgan Sheehy led the design and construction of a medieval-style trebuchet in collaboration with Nova FM radio hosts Fitzy and Wippa. The goal was to create the most powerful catapult ever built—capable of launching a 766kg car as far as possible. Within just six weeks, the team completed the full design, fabrication, installation, and operation of the colossal 18-tonne structure. Operation included three car testing throws to calibrate the trebuchet before the final record-breaking launch. The result was a world record-breaking throw of 76.94 metres, securing the Guinness World Record for the largest and most powerful catapult ever built.

Event Engineering was tasked with designing a world record breaking BBQ. The BBQ, known to Triple M listeners as ‘The Meat Chandelier’ was designed and engineered in house by Event Engineering. This included full colour branding elements and delivery of the work to site.
